Deirdre V. Batch, MD, MPH
Dr. Deirdre Batch received her undergraduate degree in English from City College of New York. She then attained her Medical Degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Batch did an internship in internal medicine at the New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts and a three year residency in Obstetrics Gynecology at Boston City Hospital. She then went on to receive her Masters in Public Health in Maternal Child Health and Aging at the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Batch has practiced medicine for over 30 years in Raleigh, North Carolina. She spent 20 years practicing OB-GYN and the last 10 years have been in Bariatric medicine (medical management of obesity).
The switch in speciality was a direct response to the increasing girth of the general population not to mention her own patients. Equipped with her masters in public health from Harvard she set out to start a practice entitled Preventive Health Care Associates, now Raleigh Medical Weight Loss.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking, traveling, playing with her six grandsons, and spending time with her husband, children, and chocolate lab, Zoe.
